What is Arthritis?

 

Arthritis is a condition characterized by stiffness and inflammation (swelling) of the Joints. While you may only experience mild discomfort at the outset, the symptoms can become debilitating over time. Your risk for arthritis can increase with age, but it’s not an elderly person’s disease. Furthermore, there are different risk factors Associated with different types of arthritis. Understanding the causes and risk factors can help you and your doctor take preventive measures in advance.

 

How does yoga cures Arthritis?

 

 Yoga for arthritis helps in regulating blood circulation, decreasing stiffness of the joints, and reducing body aches of all kinds. As yoga helps in focusing on balance and   flexibility, a person can control his movements and pain decreases considerably.   Hormonal balance is maintained and the acid level is modified according to the functions of the body. Yoga helps in reducing arthritis pain, curing obesity and increases resistance to all kinds of diseases. The benefits of yoga lead us to follow its   dictums for proper arthritis treatment. What Pranayama & Asanas has to be done for Best results?

 

  In Arthritis, person has to practice very light exercise of joints which includes in  

  warm ups and with more and more pranayams. Important Pranayams which has to

  be done are as follows:

 

1.         Bhastrika Pranayam ( 50 – 100 times )

2.         Anulom Vilom Pranayam ( 50 – 100 times )

3.         Kapalbhati Pranayam ( 500-1000 times )

 

 

Asanas

 

 

1.         Trikonasana ( 10 - 20 times )

2.         Gomukhasana ( 10 – 20 times )

3.         Kandrasana ( 10 – 20 times )

 

Precautions:

 

1. Do not practice any Asana OR Pranayam in which you don’t feel comfortable.

2. Do not over do the exercises if you feel pain in your body.

3. Start exercises mildly and then increase the repetitions as per your capacity.

4. People suffering from Back pain, Slip disc OR chronic disease should only practice Yoga and other exercises under the expert supervision otherwise do not do it.

5. Pregnant women should only practice Yoga and other exercises only under the supervision of an expert otherwise do not practice any exercise by watching videos or website material.
